Hi, I’m Kelsey Marshalsey!

I am a Canadian illustrator, designer, and publisher who specialises in whimsical, character-driven artwork for children’s books. My work has brought stories to life for authors across Canada and beyond, including Nonna — an Amazon best-seller — and my own Missy Moo the Highland Coo, an indie best-seller. I am the founder of Brown Paper Fox, an indie publishing house dedicated to creating engaging, beautifully illustrated books for young readers.
I’ve been crafting hand-lettered and illustrated goods that spark joy and inspire imagination since 2016. Over time, my journey has evolved into creating heartwarming children’s picture books and playful, pattern-filled designs.
Drawing inspiration from the charm of everyday life and a touch of nostalgia, my work often features soft color palettes, cozy textures, and a sprinkle of magic. Whether it’s through adorable characters, cheeky patterns, or story-driven illustrations, my goal is to create art that resonates with both kids and the young at heart.
When I’m not drawing or dreaming up new ideas, you’ll find me working on my latest hobby (most likely in the textile arts), playing a video game, reading a new book and best of all spending time with my two kids who are inspiration in everything I do.
